After Madrasapattinam, Vijay has directed the film titled Deiva Thirumagan. Vikram is donning the lead role. Anushka, Amala Paul, Santhanam, M S Bhaskar and Nasar have shared the screen with Vikram in this film. Vikram is donning the role of a mentally retarded people. Anushka is astounded seeing Vikram’s acting.

Anushka while speaking said,"I was astonished seeing Vikram’s acting. I was surprised seeing the efforts he took to act in each scene. He also took lots of efforts to make all of us act well. Nobody has so far taught me acting in cinema career. His acting in the film has fascinated me very much. This film will fetch many awards for Vikram. He is one of the best actors in India. Another thing that fascinated me in this film is the music of G V Prakash Kumar."
